Things you might have missed. (Sketches)

Here are some sketches you might have missed. I was going through a shoe phase for the past week or couple of days now. So I fused animals and shoes together and it came out great. This is the month I finally get a new laptop so I can get back to digitally doing things but I am enjoying the sketches that I've been doing. But these sketches have been helping my creativity process which is to just go all out with no limitations. Well here they are, Enjoy!!

I seriously have to get a new computer because not designing isn't working for me & sketching is becoming kind of boring because I don't sketch that often I guess? I don't know. I almost have enough money to pay for a new laptop. Ive done my research and now I know what I need in a laptop, it's just the saving up & buying it that's the hard part. Anyway here are some sketches from this past week. 

Let's talk

Hey guys I've been working on some stuff lately and I am always coming up with the same problem over and over again which is the images turning out blurry. So I decided to work on that while also practicing masking which is becoming helpful. So I did this little design if you want to call it that and post it up on Instagram @jhenry_117. Playing around with the settings I still see that my images are still blurry to me. So I decided to do some research on the matter and I will get back to you on that when I finally figure out the problem. So while I do that here is the art work:

So as you can see it is a little blurry at the moment so I'm doing research to fix this problem. Other than that I can tell you guys some stuff that's been going on like me getting into the graphic design program at my school, which is the highlight of my summer or year as of now. I still don't think I accomplished anything though I feel like I have a long way to go before I can become a great designer or be great at what I do. But none the less I am so happy I got in. For now I'm doing my research, trying new things, and hopefully I will see an improvement because I'm my greatest critic. 

In other news I need a new computer, printer, and supplies but I'm low on funds at the moment so even though this summer I will be working my butt off I still will have to work my butt off to buy the things I need to be successful or at least get me there. So if the structure of my post seem weird that is because I am doing them through my phone since my computer doesn't want to work. With that said I will leave you with some sketches and some stuff you might not have seen from me in a while or you might have seen it and I just forgot I posted it. Enjoy!

Shoe Collection

Lately I've been drawing shoes and I'm liking it because it is a change of pace or a good subject change. So I decided to show you guys my shoe collection, not my actual shoe collection because I don't really have one at the moment. So here are a couple if pics I decided to share. 

Lately I've also been stressed with the graphic design stuff and I chose to not do anything this spring break but just write down ideas and not do any work. Just write my ideas down because I feel like I'm burning myself out and worrying so much about the program and getting into it. So I've decided to not do anything during the break and in that I discovered find new outlets and I want to dive into acrylic painting. So I'm doing my research on what I need and I already have a sketch in mind so stay tuned for that. ENJOY!

Sketches of the week

These are some of the sketches that I have done this past week. These are not all of them, trust me, but these are the ones that stood out the most out of all of them. I am beginning to see that I still love sketching and I am getting more confident in it as well, like coming up with things that I would have never thought of before. There is more to come I promise, also here is some news or an update on what is going on in life.

It is spring break now and you know what that means...yes you guessed it...more work. I am coming off of a long work schedule and I am going to follow it with working on some designs in order for me to get into the graphic design program at my school which I still feel I can get in with more hard work. So I will be fixing up my portfolio and also working on a couple of other personal things too. Like getting back to working out and running which I miss so much but haven't had the time and sleeping as well, which I really miss that, but I will keep you guys informed on new designs, artwork, and more but until then. ENJOY!!!

p.s. I want to thank you guys for taking the time to look at my artwork and liking my stuff on Instagram it means a lot to me. Even though I don't think a lot of people pay attention to my stuff but in the end I love what I am doing and I am loving the process of balancing what I love to do and the things I have to do in life but I feel it will pay off one day. And I like that you can see my progression from when I started to where I am at now. I don't know how or when but I feel like this hard work will pay off one day. Thanks.

Hand Study

Well this is what I've been up to. I was talking to myself, well not in a crazy way, about what I want to work on next and that was drawing figures. I chose to start on the hard parts first which are hands. Most people would say face or the whole figure but I wanted to start off small. In most peoples art work if you notice they don't always draw hands but the ones that do tend to stand out more. So I spent a whole week drawing hands and I made some progress along the way. Here they are in order of days, also towards the end I added some arms so I could further work on anatomy. So here they are:

Daily sketch [05/12-17/2014]

Not a lot of drawing this past week I was mostly working out this whole week trying to get my physical fitness in order but I have come up with some stuff. Lately I've been, not worrying but, thinking about the next step in my education. Just been praying that God guides me in the right direction. The pictures that I am going to show you guy are my recent ones and at least two of them I am going to paint. I've decided to do watercolor with these so here are the sketches for this week:

These next two are the before, the outline, and the after, the sketch, and this is going to be for my cousin that I promised to do three years ago. So I decided to draw a natural girl with pearls around her neck. Also in the little girl's shirt is my cousin's initials which is C.R. So check it out:

Lastly, this layout is for my aunt who's dog pasted away early last week so I decided to do a painting for her as well. This wasn't just a dog to her this was her daughter. Someone she could come home to and who was there to comfort her if she had a bad day. She raised her since she was a little puppy. A lot of people can relate to this because in most cases a pet is not just a animal they are family. So check out the outline and the finished product should be coming soon. The Destination

I know it has been forever since I posted anything but now that school is over I have time. Here is what I have been working on. I decided to stick with the grey skeam for this but then things changed. It is called The Destination because lately I have been going through a lot and I am just trying to find my place. I decided to make it looking hazy to make it seem like it is still hazy but I can still see it.So check out the original sketch and then check out the digital sketch. Enjoy.

This has been a slow week for me because I was in the hospital this week and also school but I can't stress out now, I have to keep moving and going forward. Daily sketches [4/7-13/2014]

I decided to do this again because it seemed productive like the last time. This week I was really Outkast inspired in some of my drawings as you can see. I'm mad at them though, I'm glad they are performing but at the same time why aren't their any shows coming to Atlanta, their home. Maybe they did & I missed it but I saw a live stream of their show which was pretty good, they are old now but they are still good at what they do. I just didn't like the crowd which was showing no type of energy. Also I did a full page sketch that took a couple of days because of work and studying but it turned out good. I called it A Day n the Life, where it sums up what I do on a daily bases. I also have some thumbnails to show you guys to show which one I picked to be the one I went with. Digital Sketch 4/5/14

In the last post I told you I did a digital sketch of the last sketch I showed you guys, here are the before and after pictures. I like it, it didn't take me that long to do this one at all.  This is how I feel because this pollen is killing me man, like I can't breath and it is everywhere. It's on cars, houses, stores, people, it is everywhere. I will say this though the days are nicer now with the flowers and everything but here are the sketches and the digital sketch I did. I am working on my figures I think I am getting the hang of it. The girl came out looking weird but I am getting closer to figuring out how to draw figures. To the right is the style that I have been working on all week and I am going to keep working on it, it might help me out in the long run.
