KD V8 Charmeleon

So this is the finished product of KD V8's. Like everything the colors didn't come out like I wanted but it turned out great. I'm thinking about doing a digital version but I might not who knows haha. Also, here is everything from the beginning sketch to the watercolor. I thought about this idea while at work and I wanted to continue the theme of pop culture and sneakers which I'm still going to do. So stay tuned for more, Enjoy!!

Alligator Kyrie's

So I gave myself a project and you guys might have seen this before in the earlier post but here is the finished product. This all started because I thought Kyrie Ivring's shoes looked like alligators so I just went with it and it came out better than I expected. Here is the process from beginning to end, I hope you guys enjoy it. 

 

Computer illustrations

Well I told you guys my computer won't let me upload anything so I took it upon myself to just take pictures of the screen instead. With these I just stood at the screen with my tablet did some sketches and turned some of them into paintings. They're not all the way rendered but that's what I liked about them which are unfinished but finished at the same time. When I do my rendered stuff I love my line work but couldn't translate them over to the finished illustration so instead I kept the line work. Hope you like them like I do...Enjoy! 

Let's talk

Hey guys I've been working on some stuff lately and I am always coming up with the same problem over and over again which is the images turning out blurry. So I decided to work on that while also practicing masking which is becoming helpful. So I did this little design if you want to call it that and post it up on Instagram @jhenry_117. Playing around with the settings I still see that my images are still blurry to me. So I decided to do some research on the matter and I will get back to you on that when I finally figure out the problem. So while I do that here is the art work:

So as you can see it is a little blurry at the moment so I'm doing research to fix this problem. Other than that I can tell you guys some stuff that's been going on like me getting into the graphic design program at my school, which is the highlight of my summer or year as of now. I still don't think I accomplished anything though I feel like I have a long way to go before I can become a great designer or be great at what I do. But none the less I am so happy I got in. For now I'm doing my research, trying new things, and hopefully I will see an improvement because I'm my greatest critic. 

In other news I need a new computer, printer, and supplies but I'm low on funds at the moment so even though this summer I will be working my butt off I still will have to work my butt off to buy the things I need to be successful or at least get me there. So if the structure of my post seem weird that is because I am doing them through my phone since my computer doesn't want to work. With that said I will leave you with some sketches and some stuff you might not have seen from me in a while or you might have seen it and I just forgot I posted it. Enjoy!

Progress Step 2

Well I'm back...again

I swear I'm like a neglectful father when it comes to my blog but let's say for now I'm back. So I've been busy with school making my portfolio trying my best to get into the program and I finally finished it and turned it in so hopefully I get some good news in the next couple of days. I am so tired I came home and started working on a summer project, well one of many different projects. I want to take up painting so I am laying everything out now. That's one thing I learned from school which is to try and map as much out as possible. In the past I would just jump head first into something, art related, but now I sketch things out and plan them out more so I can't say I didn't learn anything this past semester/year. So I will leave you all with a taste of what I'm working on at the bottom and I will talk to you guys soon. 

Sketches of the week

These are some of the sketches that I have done this past week. These are not all of them, trust me, but these are the ones that stood out the most out of all of them. I am beginning to see that I still love sketching and I am getting more confident in it as well, like coming up with things that I would have never thought of before. There is more to come I promise, also here is some news or an update on what is going on in life.

It is spring break now and you know what that means...yes you guessed it...more work. I am coming off of a long work schedule and I am going to follow it with working on some designs in order for me to get into the graphic design program at my school which I still feel I can get in with more hard work. So I will be fixing up my portfolio and also working on a couple of other personal things too. Like getting back to working out and running which I miss so much but haven't had the time and sleeping as well, which I really miss that, but I will keep you guys informed on new designs, artwork, and more but until then. ENJOY!!!

p.s. I want to thank you guys for taking the time to look at my artwork and liking my stuff on Instagram it means a lot to me. Even though I don't think a lot of people pay attention to my stuff but in the end I love what I am doing and I am loving the process of balancing what I love to do and the things I have to do in life but I feel it will pay off one day. And I like that you can see my progression from when I started to where I am at now. I don't know how or when but I feel like this hard work will pay off one day. Thanks.

Dang my bad lets catch up

Sorry about the little to no content lately I've been working on somethings but haven't posted on my blog and I feel bad let me catch you guys up on what's been going on as far as my artwork is concerned. 

This is the design I worked on for a couple of days. This came out of pure frustration because of class. I was so mad at myself because I knew I was better than the work I was putting out in class so I was telling myself to chill I got this. This design came out pretty good too, I tried to put as much depth in it as I could. I can say I am getting better with Illustrator and trying out different things in order to find what I like. 

I got a ton of sketches that I haven't even posted on my Instagram but I chose this one, because this is the only one on my phone lol, and also it shows a story that I liked as well. I will tell you guys I get a lot if compliments on my sketches which is a pleasure to hear. I'm trying to go back to the one sketch a day thing I started a long time ago. 

This is an update of my JH logo. I feel like this is a progression of what I have learned in school and as a designer looking at more professional artist. My older one looks like something I would do as a beginner. I based it off of everything I've learned so far in my class and as a designer. The corners aren't so sharp and the colors compliment each other. Also I paid homage to my old logo by putting the letters within it like my older version.

Adidas Tubular

Sorry I haven't been posting in a while, you should check out my Instagram for daily sketches JHENRY_117, but my computer is acting weird and I don't need this to happen right when school is about to start. These are the shoes that I've been thinking about getting which are the blue, or black, Adidas Tubular. In 2015 I want to try to dress better but as of lately I feel like all the shoes are either ugly or all look the same other than these. So more to come and I hope you guys like this. ENJOY!!

African Princess

I am kind of frustrated after this one, I like it don't get me wrong but I am always striving for progress but while also trying to figure out this Photoshop style I want to do. Also I guess I can talk to you guys about what I have been thinking for the past few days and that is I want to go hard on this art. I feel as if I just keep focus on this and stop trying to stretch myself to do different things, I can become great at this like I want. Also I want to start my own Youtube page in 2015, I'm not going to talk about helping others get better at art but more on the lines of me talking and drawing which I feel like that would be a great idea for me so I can keep my mind focused on what I really want to do. 2015 is going to be a great year for me and my art and I am not going to say hopefully because that means I don't have faith in myself. So after all this is said here is my new pic/artwork.

I think I might put this in the Madness Collection, this called Fortitude which is Latin for Strength.

Neymar Madness

I am getting serious with this now, I am going to try and do at least one sketch a day and at least one digital rendering a week so I can keep practicing. Something Different

If you checked out my Tumblr you would've seen this. I want to try something different with photos and changing them up to see what I could do with it.
