Patience: The Great Elephant

This is the end result of what I have been working on for the past week. I am getting better also I'm proud of myself with every sketch, video I watch, and even some books that have been recommended for me to help me become great. What I like about this is the progress, if you notice that the top flowers are different from the rest of the piece. I have been looking at so many Youtube videos on how to get better at art that the style that most of them used stuck to me and that's how those flowers came out. Everything else is somewhat the same but I'm paying more attention to detail. I am proud of this one I will only get better from here so check it out for yourself and tell me what you think:

A lot has been going on lately, once again Georgia was hit with the snow/ice storm and everything kind of stopped for a while. As of now I have been busy with work, kind of, school, I have started back working out and eating healthier so that's a plus, and also trying to be a better person. So as of now my schedule is tight but everything is good right now, plus I have a test Monday. Anyway, I'm learning more and more about being a graphic designer, I just have to keep practicing and putting my work out there for the world to see. Looking at this I still have a lot to work on but I'm getting better one piece at at time. It is going to be a long process but it's what I want to do so I just have to keep practicing and working on it. If it came easy then it means nothing, so I'm going to keep working at it. Alright talk to y'all later. Peace.

Project Pastels Phase 3

Just finished up the skulls, the chain, and the nose of the elephant. This is one of my favorite phases because I can see everything come together and not just a bunch of stuff being put together. This is the phase where I know what I wanted to do and how to use the pastels the way I want. You will see more of what I am talking about in the final phase. Anyway here it is phase three of this pastel project. I'll be posting the finished product later:

Project Pastel Phase 2

This is some of the colors that I have put in. Let me start by saying I'm not a oil pastel fan but I do like the look and feel of the chalk pastels that make up most of this drawing. Also I'm not a fan of the girl's right I eye I think I might have messed up on something along the way but I'm still learning so that is going to happen until I practice more. Other than that I'm loving the elephant, I think that is the strongest thing in this piece. All and all it is coming together I'm learning how to use these pastels and it is a challenge but I'll get through it. Anyway take a look:

Project Pastels phase 1

Yesterday I decided to start practicing with my pastels I found out I have 2 which are chalk and oils. I think I'm addicted to what the elephant stands for which is patience. This looks similar to the daily sketch I put up a day or two ago but I wanted to go ahead and practice on the pastels that I have. I think I'm going to call this Project Pastels, this is stage one so stay tuned for more:

Side Project #1 [FInished]

Well I did it in two days, it wasn't that hard at all, so here is the final product. The funny thing about this was the fact that my mom didn't notice that I started painting this a day ago. Also when I was painting her & my sister pulled up, I had the blue tape over the black parts so paint wouldn't get on them. So at first glance or from a distance it looked like I painted the whole thing blue, my sister then had the nerve to say it was ugly. My family is too honest at times but then she noticed it was tape & she took what she said back. I left the buckets their natural color/texture to give it that old look. My mom said it looked like an old married farm couple but I thought it looked like a brother & sister helping out grandma & grandpa on the farm. It's funny how people can interpret something different off one picture or artwork. I hope you guys like this as much as my family does, here is the finished product:

Today was a long day. Woke up at 7:30 a.m. to drop my brother off at school, came home couldn't go back to sleep so I ate breakfast & went to sleep. Woke up went to the gym, came home finished this up, took a shower, & I'm off to work in a couple of hours. I just keep reminding myself of what Big K.R.I.T. asked in one of his songs "...So what you been creating on your free time?". So I'm trying to use all my hours to my advantage. Okay, anyway, talk to y'all soon.

Side project #1 [Day 1]

Well my dad had me to touch up some old statues, I think you can call them that, because he said it needed to be touched up. Personally I like the old look on these things but hey he's the boss, plus I live under his roof so I'll do what he saids. He wants the body to be black, he wants the boy to have blue overalls while the girl has a red dress, thinking about it now it doesn't seem that bad. I finished up the bodies & I'm about to work on the clothes tomorrow. I actually enjoyed this, I haven't spray painted anything in a while. But the bad part was being out in the freezing cold for a while. It only took me a hour & a half I think, I'm not for sure but I enjoyed it. Anyway here are the before & after pictures:
Before.
After.

I will keep the buckets covered for now because he never told me what he wanted me to do with them. This is probably gonna be a three day thing I could finish it up today but I have work & we have to get our house together for our annual Christmas Party and it will be at our house this year so you know what that means...a lot of cleaning. I hope you enjoyed this I will talk to you guys soon.
