Song of the day: Damn Your Eyes (Etta James Cover)

This is an artist from London that has sparked my interest his voice is amazing to me it has so much soul in it. This is a Etta James Cover he did to one of my favorite songs from he titled Damn Your Eyes. He almost matches the intensity that she had when she was sing this song. I feel in love with this song the first time I heard it check it out for yourself. ENJOY!!!

Here is another song by him if you liked the one above this guy has natural talent check out his live unplugged performance of his #1 song Too Close.

Dabs Myla

I've been following this couple for a while now, as you can probably tell I am heavily influenced by the graffiti culture. This is a couple from Australia but has moved to California and has blown up in the graffiti culture. One thing I like about them other than their style is that they work together and look like they are having a great time. This is great when two people that love each other are working and enjoying themselves. At times it doesn't work but they make it seem as if it does. I like them because they both balance out each other's strengths and weakness. This is a perfect match I love how two people who are different can come together and act as one. The video below will show you better than I can tell you also check out their website at DabsMyla.com. ENJOY!!!

My Sanctuary

This is a quick sketch I did on the last days or weeks of school, this area was my sanctuary. This was a place where I could go and just think about the day, bust out a few sketches, and also see some good looking females. Actually the last part was the main reason why I would chill there, off subject my school has some nice looking females. Back to the picture. I wanted to sketch this out is because I didn't want to forget this place I chilled at for about a couple of semesters now. I think most artist do that at times just to give themselves a reminder why they live through the day. At times it might seem as if it is nothing to other people but to an artist something so simple as an couch could mean a lot and symbolize many things. I get all my inspiration from this place and the people I've met. I learned in order to be a good anything you have to talk to people; you have to have an opened mind because everyone has something to say that could make you better. Or not depending on the person. Just thinking about makes me miss school a little.

On a side note, I love human interaction. If I stare at someone I observe and don't say anything that just means I'm really interested. This is why I loved this area this was my spot it was never boring. All jokes aside I’ve met and seen some interesting people at this spot, I guess people are drawn into a friendly smile. You never truly understand life with your guard up, your eyes straight, and your heart closed. I have one more semester at my school and that will be it but I will never forget the people I met that made me a better artist. And also those who have made me a better person. There is more to this spot but I’m too lazy share it with you guys right now but I promised to post at least one thing a day so here it is. ENJOY!!!

Manuel Rebollo

Manuel Rebollo is an artist that has sparked my attention lately and is also an inspiration for me in the illustration game. He is an artist from Spain so it is hard to translate most of his stuff unless you have a translator built into your computer or browser. The thing I like about him is the fact that not only does the characters look real there is a message to each image. Some portray a mindset, a feeling, inspiration, or pretty much anything you can think of.  Looking at each of the females you can see that each has their own personality to them. The way they look the way they are positioned has a reason. Some show passion, anger, joy, confusion, frustration, curiosity, etc. This is why I like his works because they express emotion he makes them seem as though they are people and not just images.

Each image has a message to them that can touch anyone. Looking closely it seems like he has done this for a while now because of the details that he has put into each image.  From the eyes to the lips and even the hair he makes your eye and brain work at the same time forming a story that goes along with the image. At times it seems like he uses the basic colors black and white but the ones that uses color stand out the most without him having to do much. He does a great job working with the space around the image. This is a good example of putting your passion into your work. Here is his website/blog for more stuff from him. ENJOY!!!

This is my favorite on by him, it is titled ''GOLD''.

Sketch (Coffee Chick)

There is a story to these photos. When school was in I use to sit at the end of the hallway waiting for class to start often times bored. Being an observant person I would draw whatever is near me at the moment no matter who or what it may be. Trust me you will see as I show you more pictures as time progresses. This time I caught someone slippin her name slips me at the moment, even though she told me about a hundred times, but she was practically posing. We would always talk about whatever, no really we would talk about anything she was a very out spoken person at times. On this day she was tired so she sat at the seat across from me and fell right to sleep. Slowly taking my sketch book and pencil out I did a quick sketch of her. To me honest I was practicing on my ''life drawings''. It took about a minute if I could remember correctly, this was the fastest drawing I have ever done of a live person. This is one of my favorite sketches in my book for now.

When I first took the picture I had to go over it again a few times just so it could show up on camera even with the light. Like I said before I really like this picture so going over it again hurt a little inside. Also I like making my female characters look like Native American warriors so I had to fight that temptation. I will further explain that as time progresses because it sounds strange but I have a good explanation for that. The picture quality sucks but what else can u expect from an IPOD camera. I’m trying to save up to buy a camera but you gotta work with what you got so I’m not complaining. More stuff on the way with hopefully a better camera...ENJOY!!!

EWOK 5MH & TEKNYC '' Avengers''

I just think this is the coolest thing that I have ever seen. If you don't know by now Ewok One is by far one of my favorite graffiti artist of all time. He is a heavy influence on my art as far as being as creative as possible and not holding back something I am still learning as I go along. This is based off the new Avengers movie that I am going to go see sometime this week.

Watching the video I love how he incorporates the movie hopefully he doesn't get sued for some odd reason. Looking closely at the Iron Man you can see that he has actually substituted irons which shows his comedic side as a artist. Check it out for yourself and tell me what you guys think.

Quick info

It has been a while, things have changed from what I can see. School has been a big factor in why I have not been blogging as much but I am gonna try to change that around for this upcoming year so bare with me. I made a commitment to myself to draw at least one picture a day. The reason why I have kept this commitment to myself so I can never lose that passion for what I do like most artist. Once a artist loses the passion for what they do it is a sad sight. No matter is it is art, music, dance, poetry, writing, or even in the medical field, once it is gone it is hard to get it back. So if you love doing what you do don't let it die. You guys can expect some of the art I did from my drawing class, a brotha is getting pretty good. Before I forget hit me up on twitter at @DatBoi_Meat, I know it is funny but it was a high school thing plus I don't know how to change it. Trust me I will be ''constantly'' trying to blog something at least 5 times out the week.

Anyway more art to come and more blogging as well, well I'll try, PEACE.
